380mm x 310mm x 28mm :2.8kg
This stunning board was another experimental endgrain board. It is predominantly made selected pieces from old growth WA Jarrah (which is more chocolate in color than red). The light color timber is Queensland Crows Ash. The very dark is blackened redgum, from trees that were buried in the mud of the Murray River for perhaps 1000 years. To make this board every piece must be perfectly square with perfect 45-degree cuts where required. It is made by gluing segments, then finally the segments then glued together. It has a hole type handle and a bevelled edge. a meat "juices" groove has been routered in. Finish is Gillies Wax
